Southwestern France's Cahors region is the home of Malbec. Long overshadowed by its neighbor Bordeaux where Malbec is a minor player as a blending grape, Cahors Malbec has more recently been overshadowed by Argentina. This is a lighter alternative to the usually full bodied Argentine Malbecs. Medium to full bodied with flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum and a touch of cinnamon with soft tannins. Enjoy on its own or with cassoulet, burgers, steaks or pasta marinara.
