The Schiava (aka Vernatsch) grape is a German/Italian variety that's mostly grown around Italy's northeastern Alto Adige region and nearby in Germany. This delightfully light bodied red is comparable to the Gamays of Beaujolais. Flavors and aromas of cherry juice, pomegranate and a hint of cinnamon. Smooth and easy drinking, enjoy slightly chilled on its own, with turkey, charcuterie and cold sandwiches.
